A spokesman for the state-run carrier said on Wednesday that Milczarski had also lost his job as CEO of the Polish Aviation Group (PGL), LOT’s parent company.

The supervisory boards of both LOT and PGL "decided on Wednesday to dismiss Mr. Rafał Milczarski from his post as chairman of the management boards of both companies," spokesman Krzysztof Moczulski said in a statement.

He added that the supervisory boards thanked Milczarski for his "contribution to the development of LOT Polish Airlines and PGL in recent years," Polish state news agency PAP reported.

Milczarski is leaving after six years as CEO of the Polish national carrier, the money.pl website reported.
