EUR 17.6 bn trade deficit for Poland in first 11 months of 2022: stats office

Poland had a foreign trade deficit of around EUR 17.6 billion in the first 11 months of last year, the country’s statistics office reported on Tuesday.

Poland’s exports from the beginning of January 2022 to the end of November 2022 totaled EUR 315.5 billion, while imports were worth EUR 333.1 billion, the state-run Statistics Poland (GUS) agency said.

It added that Poland's exports during this period increased by 22.7 percent in zloty terms at current prices compared with the first 11 months of 2021, while imports grew by 30.1 percent year on year.

Poland’s largest export markets in the first 11 months of last year were Germany, the Czech Republic and France, while Germany, China and Italy were the country’s largest import markets, data showed.

Poland ended 2021 with a foreign trade deficit of around EUR 1.5 billion, according to Statistics Poland.

Poland’s exports totaled EUR 288.1 billion in 2021 as a whole, while imports were worth EUR 289.6 billion.
