She was informed of the honour by the plane’s crew about 30 minutes before landing, public broadcaster Polish Radio’s IAR news agency reported.
The milestone passenger received gifts from LOT and Chopin Airport.
LOT CEO Michał Fijoł said that the airline accounts for a significant share of the airport’s traffic, with 55 percent of passengers flying with LOT and 60 percent of the planes at Chopin Airport belonging to the airline.
This achievement follows a record-breaking summer for Chopin Airport, which handled over 2 million passengers each month from June through September.
Next week, airport authorities are expected to unveil an expansion plan to increase capacity. Construction is set to begin in 2026, with the goal of accommodating around 30 million passengers annually by 2028.
In the coming years, much of Poland's air traffic is expected to shift to a new hub airport planned between Warsaw and the central city of Łódź.
