Russian forces launched over 90 attack drones, 47 of which were shot down by Ukrainian air defences, according to the Ukrainian Air Force.

The strikes caused damage in four regions across northern, central, and southern Ukraine.

Additionally, Ukraine’s air defence units successfully redirected 33 drones using electronic warfare.

As Russia and Ukraine continue their aerial assaults, the fate of a proposed ceasefire remains uncertain, Reuters reported.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky stated on Sunday that Russia’s actions demonstrate no intention to end the conflict, despite ongoing discussions.

He revealed that Russia has launched hundreds of attacks on cities and towns across 11 Ukrainian regions this week, including more than 1,020 combat drones, nearly 1,360 guided aerial bombs, and over 10 missiles of various types.

Zelensky emphasized that those "who want the war to end as soon as possible” would not act in such a manner and called for sustained international pressure on Russia to halt its aggression.

"Decisive actions are needed, including sanctions, which should not only be maintained but also continuously strengthened," he said.

Zelensky added that "Ukraine, Europe, America, and all those in the world who want peace" must work together to achieve "a just and lasting peace."

Meanwhile, US Secretary of State Marco Rubio held a call with Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov, according to a statement from the US State Department spokesperson, Tammy Bruce.

During the call, Rubio informed Lavrov about a recent US strike against Houthi militants in Yemen.

"Secretary Rubio and Foreign Minister Lavrov also discussed next steps to follow up on recent meetings in Saudi Arabia and agreed to continue working toward restoring communication between the United States and Russia" the statement read.
