This marks a decline of 147,000 compared to the previous year, according to the Statistics Poland office.
The head of Statistics Poland, Marek Cierpiał-Wolan, said that Poland's population has been falling since 2012, with the exception of 2017 when a slight increase was recorded.
Preliminary estimates by Statistics Poland indicate that 252,000 children were born in Poland last year, representing a decrease of 20,000 from 2023 and marking the lowest number of births in the country since World War II.
Meanwhile, the number of deaths remained stable at 409,000, Statistics Poland reported on Thursday.
