Hurkacz advanced on Wednesday night after his second-round opponent, Czech Jiri Lehecka, retired with the score at 7-5, 2-0 in favor of the Polish player.
In the first round, the nearly 28-year-old, currently ranked 21st in the world, easily defeated Italy’s Flavio Cobolli 6-3, 6-2.
This will be his sixth meeting with Andrey Rublev, with the Pole leading their head-to-head 3-2. They are set to play on Friday, February 7, around 9:00 PM Polish time, right after Alcaraz faces Martinez.

Meanwhile, Poland’s Jan Zieliński has already reached the doubles semifinals in Rotterdam. He and Belgium’s Sander Gillé won their quarterfinal match against Croatia’s Nikola Mektić and New Zealand’s Michael Venus 7-6 (7-5), 7-6 (7-3), and will next face either Marcelo Arévalo and Mate Pavić or Hugo Nys and Édouard Roger-Vasselin.
