The channel, called Slawa TV in reference to the Ukrainian national salute, went on air on Monday, TVP announced on its website.
Slawa TV seeks to provide comprehensive news and current-affairs coverage for Ukrainians both in Ukraine and abroad, according to TVP’s English-language station, TVP World.
Michał Broniatowski, head of TVP’s International Media Centre, said: "Our primary goal is to offer professional news reporting on Ukraine and global events affecting the country."
He added: "We also aim to discuss Ukraine’s EU and NATO aspirations and present the Polish government’s stance on relations with our neighbour."
Mariia Gorska, editor-in-chief of Slawa TV, described the channel as "a Polish-Ukrainian informational project, strengthening both countries’ joint efforts in fighting the [Russian] aggressor and dictatorships while reinforcing democracy in Central Europe."
TVP’s International Media Centre, established in December, includes Slawa TV, TVP World, the Russian-language Vot Tak channel, and the Belarusian-language Belsat.
Slawa TV broadcasts daily from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Warsaw time (12 p.m. to 5 p.m. Kyiv time) and 9 p.m. to 10 p.m. Warsaw time (10 p.m. to 11 p.m. Kyiv time), according to TVP World.
