The package, Sweden’s 18th since Russia’s full-scale invasion in 2022, includes the direct financing of arms manufacturing by Ukrainian defense firms. “We are moving from donations to production,” Swedish Defense Minister Pål Jonson told reporters, adding that approximately one billion crowns will fund domestic Ukrainian production of long-range rockets and unmanned aerial vehicles.

In addition to weaponry, part of the new funds will be allocated to training Ukrainian soldiers. Sweden has so far provided some SEK 59.7 billion (EUR 5.4 billion) in military support to Kyiv.

The government detailed a range of items to be delivered or financed, including:

  • 146 trucks and 23 weapons stations for marine use
  • 16 CB 90 combat boats
  • 1 million rounds of 12.7 mm ammunition
  • 1,500 TOW anti-tank missiles
  • 200 other anti-tank weapons
  • Infantry and personal protective gear for chemical, biological, radiological, and nuclear (CBRN) threats

Jonson said Sweden is now negotiating with domestic and European suppliers to prioritize artillery systems and drones. “This package is all about strengthening Ukraine’s warfighting capabilities and ensuring they have the resources to defend themselves,” the minister added.
